Mental Illness Awareness Week

Mental Illness Awareness Week

Millions of people worldwide are affected by mental illness, impacting not only those who experience them but also their families, friends, and coworkers. During the first week of October, Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW) emphasizes the importance of raising awareness and fostering support for mental health. This year, one focus is on building understanding and encouraging open conversations to reduce stigma and offer compassion, not only for those living with bipolar disorder but for everyone affected by mental illness. At IBPF, we believe a healthy life can be lived, and we’re here to support individuals with resources, guidance, and community to help them thrive.

Find Treatment:

Psychology Today: Psychology Today is a way to help you find therapists and psychiatrists. Psychology Today’s Therapy Directory lists clinical professionals, psychiatrists and treatment centers who provide mental health services in the US and internationally. Resources can be narrowed down by state, city or treatment programs.

USA Treatment Locator: The Behavioral Health Treatment Services Locator is an online source of information for persons seeking treatment facilities in the United States or U.S. Territories for substance use/addiction and/or mental health problems. The Spanish version of this site is now available, here.
