We are dedicated to helping the community of Puerto Rico based on our experiences as people with mental health conditions and family who have participated in the recovery process. We offer community talks, support groups, and audiovisual materials. We are not doctors or replacing them, but offer additional support to direct people towards the path of recovery from a mental condition.
Nuestra Mente was founded in 2011 by Juan Vélez Court, a consumer of mental health from the six (6) years. His mother, Millie Court, is the founder of the Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder in Puerto Rico and the Federation of Families for Puerto Rico Foundation; Metro Region. Both have offered support groups, workshops and community involvement about the message of recovery for years. The Foundation also collaborates with other organizations including the Lions Club, the ELKS Lodge, against Allied Foundation Bipolar and Depression and the STAR Center, among others.
