Finding Balance in an Unbalanced World

A native Boston, born 60 years ago, Deva Lipson is a bipolar survivor who has become a missionary against the twisted existence the disease can cause. She goes wherever in the county to talk to service clubs, schools, anyone with ears to loan about the disease that for years pinned her life like a beetle – how to understand it and how to survive it. She especially wants to help remove the stigma. Her teaching syllabus is her own life.

Lipson graduated Bridgewater State College with her BA in Journalism. She has once resided in Israel on a kibbutz, working in the fields and loving the whole experience, and enjoyed a 2 month stay in London and Holland. During the 80’s, Deva studied holistic healing, taught meditation and in 2001, became certified as a hypno-therapist from International Association of Counselors & Therapists.

Now, Lipson has resided back in San Diego, where she volunteers her time with National Alliance for Mental Illness and became a member of Universal Spirit Center in Hillcrest.
