In honor of Men’s Health Month, this June, Dennis Gillan is issuing a call to action to MEN to get comfortable talking about and seeking treatment for MENtal Health conditions.
Dennis is on a mission to reverse the current trends in completed suicides and to seriously reduce the stigma associated with getting help for one’s mental health. He will discuss what he has learned and how he has dealt with his losses, as he has been tragically touched by suicide.
He has worked on the suicide prevention hotline in Chicago and he is currently on the board of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, state chapter. In this capacity, he lobbies lawmakers for additional funding for suicide prevention and raises funds and awareness to help combat the rise in completed suicides.
