Something I Am Proud Of:

What I am most proud of is initially realising that there was something not quite right with myself and my mental health, and asking for help. Despite a previous diagnosis of depression, I felt like something else was at play- and my suspicions were then confirmed by medical professionals. I am also proud of how well I accepted the official diagnosis. For me, I felt somewhat relieved that what I had been suffering from finally had a name- and was therefore a little easier for me to face.

Advice For Newly Diagnosed:

Try not to put too much pressure on yourself to be stoic and strong. For me, at least, I found that a lot of people would tell me to “stay strong” and “be brave”. And although it is necessary (to a degree) to be brave whilst facing this illness, I find that it is easier if you try not to be too hard yourself.
