In this video we will be talking with Patrick Roland who has a dual diagnosis of drug addiction and bipolar disorder.
In 2014, Patrick lost his partner, Pack, suddenly and without warning. In tremendous emotional pain and feeling desperately, lonely and depressed, he started to use recreational drugs heavily and hit rock-bottom while on a trip to Las Vegas. During that trip, he met with his bipolar diagnosis.
After being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and then getting sober, Patrick started his new journey with a founded strength to face the obstacles that were to come.
He has authored three books about his experience, including a children’s book.
Patrick lives in Phoenix, AZ where he works as a peer support specialist at a mental health clinic. He is currently in Grad school working towards a master’s degree in Addiction Counseling.
