How Churches Can Promote Recovery with Rev. Mary Alice Do

This webinar will present a clinical, Biblical and personal perspective of psychiatric disorders.  The role of the church will be discussed as well as practical ways that members can minister to people who have a psychiatric disorder and promote their recovery.   

Rev. Mary Alice Do, M.Div., is a retired ordained minister who has bipolar disorder, has had recurring episodes of depression throughout her life and was hospitalized twice. She worked seven years in ministry, 13 years providing peer support and two years doing case management for people with a serious mental illness.  For nine years, she made monthly presentations on Promoting Recovery to new employees at a mental health agency.  She currently presents workshops on Becoming a Supportive Church and is a NAMI In Our Own Voice presenter.
