Author Liam Gildea joins us to discuss his experience living with Bipolar II for the last 20 years, as he has written about in his recent book “High Life Low Life”. You will be able to listen and ask questions about this patient’s perspective on how he dealt with his diagnosis, medication, hypomania, depressive episodes, and other symptoms. Liam’s journey and book is a story of hope, as he has turned his life around, now starting a new career and being an ambassador for people with bipolar illness.
Liam Gildea is 38 years old and was officially diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2013, but has been suffering with mental health issues since the age of 16. Having been well since, he decided to write a book on his own personal experiences over the last 20 years. I hope that the book will be of some help to those who are suffering with mental health issues and to reduce the stigma that shrouds bipolar illness. While he has family in Boston, he is currently residing in Ireland.
