Something I am Proud of in My Journey:
I have been diagnosed with Bipolar 2 since 2005, even though living with it hasn’t been easy, I fulfilled my dream of becoming a professional book writer(7 books already published),a motivational speaker,a mentor of life and a support group facilitator for the Alzheimer’s (my mother suffered from it for 20 years) and soon for NAMI.Sometimes I can’t believe all that I have achieved, but I’m blessed to have a husband, family and friends whom supports me through my ups and downs.
I have been hospitalized 3 times between 2015 and 2016 because I stopped taking my meds and that developed in a very strong Hypomania. Most important, my FAITH in God is my rock. I believe that my conditions made me more empathetic towards others and helped me materialize my purpose in life, which is to help others in need. Everything happens for a reason. Being Bipolar 2 doesn’t define me as a person, I’m much more than my condition.
Message for Newly Diagnosed:
My MESSAGE to those newly diagnosed is; always go to your appointments with your psychiatrist if you have one ,take your meds if you are prescribed, try not to stop taking them on your own, take one day at a time, exercise and remember YOU ARE NOT ALONE in your journey. You can live a great life being Bipolar, I’m the perfect example!!!
