Advice for Newly Diagnosed:
My advice for newly diagnosed: Don’t be afraid to reach out for help. It’s not going to be an easy journey, and having a support system is so important. If you don’t have access to a therapist or psychiatrist, reach out to friends or family when you’re struggling. And never give up! This will only make you stronger.
Something I Am Proud Of:
Something I am proud of in my journey with mental illness is coming out of my depressive and manic episodes a stronger person. I was admitted into a psych unit in February which was rock bottom for me. After I got out, I was able to finish the semester at school and start a new job. It was impossible for me to envision my future at this time in my life, so I am proud of myself for bouncing back.
