Something I am Proud Of:

I am most proud of how far I have come in my life, as a result of seeking a diagnosis and committing to my treatment. I never imagined I would make it this far into my life, let alone be in the financially, mentally, and physically stable state I have found myself waking up to every morning. I can finally see a future that not only includes me in it, but makes me excited to imagine and work toward.

Advice for Newly Diagnosed:

There are more people than you could ever imagine that are willing and HAPPY to help you. Professionals, peers, and/or family can help guide you down a path of recovery where you may find a brighter future you couldn’t have imagined for yourself. The help I have found includes attending a local support group, therapy, and psychiatry, telling trusted friends and family, and disclosing to my employer. Asking for help is a difficult step to take, but it is so worth it!
