I was originally diagnosed with bipolar II when I was 23 years old.
After being involved in a car accident in 2010 many of my symptoms became much more intense and frequent. Eventually I had to take a leave from work to deal with both a spinal injury and the bipolar illness. This gave me an incredible opportunity to reflect on my life and how I live it.
I was no longer able to continue with the career I had built over a 20 year period and instead I looked to something that has always helped me to deal with whatever life has thrown at me, yoga. I am now a yoga teacher and soon to be a certified yoga therapist.
I hope to share stories that will encourage people to look at bipolar in a different way, to help others find happiness and stability as well as providing others with insight into the illness so that stigma within our society will be reduced.
