Something I Am Proud Of:

I am proud of the moment that I realized that I wanted to become a Yoga Teacher. Yoga is about yoking the mind, body & soul – aligning with the Powers that be. So, you see, I was most pleased to have had the courage to face the Spiritual Journey that I believe we are all on, from our first breath until our last. French philosopher, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin said it best when he said “we are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” And with that I share that navigating this Bipolar thing, has been most manageable due to my faith.

Advice For Newly Diagnosed:

When one strategy doesn’t seem to work for me, I have a myriad of other strategies to fall back on. Specifically, Yoga related tools like the physical practice & meditation allow me to take charge of my illness. Bipolar Disorder, for me, has been ongoing & since my early adulthood – managing one’s mental health then, in my humble opinion, is not achieved with one strategy alone. I have found that taking my medication at the same time every day & mindfulness practice’s work together, collectively.
