Something I am Proud of in My Journey:
I have experienced two major manic episodes the past few years. During both episodes I experienced hallucinations, lost control of my mind and body, and was so scared that I had to seek professional medical help. I am proud that I accept my diagnoses and have learned strategies to cope. I am a survivor, have a beautiful family, and now view my disorder as an asset and not a fundamental flaw.
Message for the Newly Diagnosed:
For anyone struggling I encourage you to listen to your doctors, take care of yourself, and keep fighting. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
