My proudest moment came when I realized that I am my biggest advocate. After keeping silent for so long, I began to understand that I can’t get better if I:
1) don’t support myself
2) be open and honest with others.
Advice For Newly Diagnosed:
Let yourself process the diagnosis and give yourself grace. Learn what your triggers are (certain relationships, alcohol, lack of sleep), and learn how to properly handle the situation without relying on destructive coping mechanisms.
