DeeAnn Wong, MD is a board-certified adult, child and adolescent psychiatrist in private practice in Encinitas, CA.

Dr. Wong graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Loma Linda University at the Riverside Campus and then received her medical degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. She completed her General Psychiatry residency at the University of California, San Diego, where she also served as chief resident during her senior year. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego.

She is a Voluntary Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Diego and gives lectures on ADHD, depression and childhood Bipolar Disorder.  Additionally, she provides one-on-one teaching for the adult psychiatry residents and child psychiatry fellows.

Dr. Wong is also active within the San Diego Psychiatric Society. She is a Past President and currently serves as Co-chair of the Communications Committee.  In 2014, she became a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.

For eight years in a row, Dr. Wong was honored to receive the Physician of Exceptional Excellence “Top Doctors” Award from the San Diego County Medical Society.

She is also a consultant reviewer for “Stahl’s Essential Psychopharmacology Prescriber’s Guide: Children and Adolescents,” by Stephen Stahl, MD., Ph.D.

Dr. Wong has been passionate about bipolar disorder, particularly in children and adolescents because of the different ways it can appear and ongoing challenges in treatment.  She believes ongoing public education about mental health and obtaining proper, qualified treatment is paramount to alleviate the suffering of patients and families.
