Michael Heckman is a media, marketing, and eLearning professional with a passion for furthering the understanding and treatment of mental health disorders. His 20+ year career in media and training includes producing award-winning PSAs, network broadcast commercials, and multimedia campaigns for nonprofits and pharmaceutical companies. He currently is a lead regulatory training specialist for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), where he focuses on developing multimedia and distance learning for securities industry professionals.
Michael also served as Executive Director of Blue Harbor Foundation, a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to funding promising clinical research with the potential to advance the diagnosis and treatment of mood disorders. After an initial career as an on-air television news reporter during the 1980s, he moved to Washington D.C. to work in the then-emerging field of eLearning and multimedia while earning his law degree at George Washington University. He has built a career specializing in using multimedia to educate professionals in the highly-regulated fields of healthcare and financial services.
